Investment Incentive

An enticement that is granted in order to attract foreign or local investment capital to particular areas (e.g. backward regions or designated areas as part of a decentralisation policy) or certain activities (e.g. exports, technological development). Such incentives may be of various types, e.g. interest-free loans, exemption from exchange restrictions, grants, factory sites, and are frequently granted as a package together with tax incentives.
